Saira Banu is an Indian film actress and producer who has appeared in Hindi films. She was one of the top actresses of the 1960s and 1970s. She made her debut in the 1961 film Junglee, opposite Shammi Kapoor. She went on to appear in several successful films, including Dil Diya Dard Liya (1966), Purab Aur Paschim (1970), and Victoria No. 203 (1972). Banu has been married to actor Dilip Kumar since 1966. She is the founder of the Saira Banu Trust, which works to provide medical aid to the poor. She has also been involved in various charitable activities. Banu has received numerous awards and honors for her work in the film industry, including the Padma Shri in 1992 and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994. She was also awarded the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 2020.
